I just took this picture because I had a flash to the future moment right before I took it. I was standing at the kitchen sink a couple of weeks ago and Johnny was laying on the couch watching TV. When I glanced up and saw how little he was on the couch, I thought to myself that I know I'll probably be standing in that exact same spot doing the exact same thing 15 years from now, but Johnny will then be stretched out over the entire couch and watching some TV show or movie that I can't stand (ha ha) and I'll be thinking "It seems like yesterday that he was a little peanut laying on the couch watching Dora." I got tears in my eyes thinking about how fast time goes. It's amazing how sentimental and emotional I've gotten since he has come into our lives so I just keep trying to hold on to every precious moment.Saturday, November 27, 2010
Fast Forward

It's amazing how sentimental and emotional I've gotten since he has come into our lives so I just keep trying to hold on to every precious moment.
My Cutie!
Johnny is the most cuddly child that I have ever known! He always gives hugs and kisses and loves to sit on my lap. He tells us that he loves us multiple times a day. He is without a question a momma's boy but I know someday I'll miss it so I'm not complaining! Some cute stories:
1) Johnny & I were "practicing" trick-or-treating around the house and he turned around and said "You so stinkin cute mommy!"
2) Johnny & I usually sit on the recliner together to watch cartoons and one day I was cleaning up the kitchen and he said "Mommy, you want to come sit with your Johnny? And cuddle? And give big hugs? (with his arms wide open waiting for a hug the whole time)
3) We were eating dinner at the table and he grabbed my hand like we were on a date and said "You're my cutie!" and kissed the top of my hand!
He pretty much makes my heart melt at least once per day. : )
Anniversary
Paul & I celebrated our 6 year wedding anniversary on Oct 23. We got married about a week after our 10 year dating anniversary so we have been together for 16 years now! Hard to believe. This was my facebook post that day: Paul & I have been together 16 years today! Where did the time go? High school, 2 different universities, moving to New York, Chicago, and back home; 16th bday, 21st bdays, and 30th bdays celebrated together; spring break, family vacations, honeymoon, and Europe; dating, marriage, and our little bundle of pure joy, Johnny. Excited for the next 16 years watching Johnny grow up. I just hope they slow down a little ; )
We headed to Chicago to celebrate on our aniversary. Steph, Dave & Erica met us out and then we went to the Bears game the following day. So fun and so glad that I finally got to go to a game. We had a great, relaxing weekend and was nice to get away.
Tractor!
Johnny got to go on his first tractor ride w/Grandpa Schofield!!! He was in heaven. Johnny is still in love w/tractors and loves playing with them at home, too. He knows all the different kinds....planter, picker, combine etc. Pretty sure he knows more about tractors than me! Thank goodness for grandparents : )
Halloween
Johnny loved Halloween this year. He told everyone he was a rockstar! He played his guitar and danced, too. Very entertaining : ) He could have cared less about the candy...not complaining about that!

Best Friends!
Johnny & I ate at Subway on Saturday and he sat in a booster seat rather than a high chair for the first time. He thought he was big stuff! He said "Johnny is a BIG boy, Mommy is a girl, We're best friends!" I couldn't resist giving him a big hug....such a sweetie!

Catching Up!
It's been waaay too long since I have updated this blog so I will do the best I can to catch up the last year! This has been an awesome year for Johnny! What fun and changes happen b/w the ages of 1 and 2. He's a full-blown toddler now who speaks full sentences : ) He has turned into a very good talker with a huge vocabulary. He's really good at telling us what he wants which is so nice!
Our family has also had some major changes in the past year which is probably right about when I stopped updating this blog...life got hectic! The bank that I worked for in Chicago was shut down and taken over by the FDIC in September 2009. We all knew it was coming but was a very sad time for those of us who worked there. It's a strange feeling to have to leave a job when you're still happy there and you have no control over the decision. I still miss the friends that I made there but we do a pretty good job of keeping in touch. Since I knew the end was coming, I began a job search in Chicago and Paxton/Champaign and ended up finding a great postion at Eastern Illini Electric in Paxton. We moved into my Grandma Schofield's old house until we found a place of our own which ended up taking a lot more time than what we had expected! So nice to have a familiar place to live and not have to rent a small apartment or invade our parents' homes. We moved down so that I could start my new job but our condo had not sold yet. We were extremely lucky to sell it within 2 weeks of listing it. In this economy, that was practically a miracle! We ended up living in my Grandma's house until May 2010 when we moved into our first house! It's over 3 times the size of our condo in Chicago and we are loving every square inch of it! It's located at Lake Iroquois so we're hoping to have a boat someday. Johnny is loving our huge yard and watching Daddy mow it : ) He is still obsessed with tractors! Johnny is also loving living close to all the grandparents. We were so fortunate to have so much help after we moved down here. Mom & Paul's mom each watched Johnny 2 days a week and Paul had him on Fridays in order to help us get back on track after taking a loss on our condo. Dad helped on several Fridays as well when he wasn't working. Johnny just started going to a babysitter for 3 days a week in June and seems to be doing very well. Each of our Moms still watch him 1 day a week for the summer.
Speaking of summer, Johnny has turned into a little fish! He loves swimming and wants to do it all by himself with his floaties. He's pretty amazing and has no fear....which is good & bad! We have been spending a lot of time at Grandma & Grandpa Schofield's pool on the weekends. It's been great!
I will add some more posts with pictures soon and hopefully keep this up to date again. I'm also going to start adding posts of Johnny's hilarious quotes that he comes up with from day to day as a way for me to remember them. I've been reading all of my old posts on this site and there are so many things that I would have forgotten!
