Johnny is one month old!

Johnny is 1 month old today! We can't believe how quickly June flew by. Johnny's 1st pic of the day in his PJs is below and then our family picture this afternoon in our courtyard. This month has gone pretty well and Johnny is becoming more and more alert all the time and is really looking around. He's sleeping well between his feedings that we wish were a little bit farther apart but we're working on it ; ) He's eating about every 2-3 hours. This past weekend we made a trip to see friends in Sycamore who have a baby girl who is 3 days younger than Johnny. Now we realize why everyone says he is so big! We think he's just a little peanut but he was a moose compared to their baby! It was funny. We have our next doctor appointment on July 8 so looking forward to finding out how much he has grown!

Johnny-2 weeks

Johnny had his 2 week doctor appointment on Friday and he has grown 1.5 inches and gained almost a pound! He is 22.5 inches long and 9 lbs. 12 oz. He is the 95th percentile for his length so he may be a tall boy like his daddy!

Johnny Mac's 1st photo shoot

Aunt Shelly came to visit and we took Johnny to have his 1st professional pictures taken. He did great and the pictures turned out wonderful. My 3 favorites are below. You can see how much he looks like Paul in the full body picture.....he's a little mini-Paul!

The trip to the studio was Johnny's 1st car seat ride since the ride home from the hospital. Thankfully he slept most of the way although he had furrowed brows the whole time even when he was sleeping! He's not a big fan of the car seat.

This was Aunt Shelly's last picture before she left. As you can see, even though Johnny is a big boy, he's still swimming in 0-3 month clothes!

One week old update

Johnny was 1 week old on Saturday! His jaundice is now gone and the lights were taken away on Thursday. Now we are enjoying holding him as much and often as we like! He's a really good sleeper (knock on wood!) and is getting up about every 3 hours to eat. He's staying awake for longer periods and becoming more alert now, too, although sleeping seems to be what he does best : ) Hopefully I will start feeling well enough soon so we can get out and go on walks to get some fresh air! We'll probably try that this week. That's all for now!

Our little "glow worm"

Hi Everyone! The Rodeen family is doing well. Shana is still on the mend. Johnny is on the mend as well with his jaundice. Shana and Paul take turns keeping Johnny's pacifier in his mouth and holding his hand all night. Here's a pic of our little glow worm in his special suit....

Baby John arrived at 2:03pm on Saturday, May 31st. He was 8 lbs, 13 oz and 21 inches long. Here is a short video of John an hour after he was born....
