For a Valentine's treat for Johnny (really just because he was cranky), we let him have a bottle in the bath tub! It was pretty funny and it made him content : )

Johnny is (almost) 8 months olds!
Sorry I mi
ssed Johnny's 7 month old update. The holidays and year end close at work have left no time for this blog! ; ) We had a great first Christmas with Johnny. We spent about a week in Paxton and visited all of the families. Paul's sister and her husband (Kate & Ken) were able to make it home from San Diego so it was great to spend time with them as well. We also got to go out with them on New Year's Eve for dinner and to a bar which was great to get out!
Johnny is continuing to grow! He is clapping, saying Mama & Dada, babbling and smiling all the time, rocking on all fours but no crawling yet, and LOVING this bouncy seat that he's able to jump in. Little blocks and stackable rings are his favorite toys right now. He's eating 3 or 4 baby food meals a day and loving it. We haven't found one thing that he doesn't like yet. His personality is coming out more and more and he's definitely a little man that knows what he wants and when he wants it! We may have a temper on our hands ; ) He hasn't gotten any more teeth since Thanksgiving but we have a feeling that his top 2 may be coming in soon. He'll be 8 months on Saturday which is hard to believe. January has flown by since I've been working so much. I'm looking foward to a slower month (hopefully) in February!
Pics below are Christmas w/cousin Grayson, Aunt Kate's little McDreamy, all dressed up for Jerry & Bethany Prina's wedding, hanging out wathcing the Illini game w/my future BFF, Jacob Conover (he's 5 1/2 months older than Johnny)

Her Journey's Just Begun
Don't think of her as gone away-
her journey's just begun,
life holds so many facets-
this earth is only one.
Just think of her as resting
from the sorrows and the tears
in a place of warmth and comfort
where there are no days and years.
Think how she must be wishing
that we could know today
how nothing but our sadness
can really pass away.
And think of her as living
in the hearts of those she touched...
for nothing loved is ever lost-
and she was loved so much.

Johnny is 6 months old!
Johnny is 6 months old! He weighed in at 19 lbs 3 ozs (75th-90th percentile) and 28 3/4 inches (off the charts again!). The doctor said that his length is the average size of an 11 month old!
November was another great month. Johnny is getting used to the winter weather and usually laughs every morning when we go out to the car because he gets a chill and think's it's so funny. He is still full of smiles and lots of babbling. He has had a couple of pretty bad cases of eczema this month so we're trying to manage that. He is also still battling his cold every now and then but putting up with a constant runny nose even when he's not congested. That's one of the joys of daycare! We couldn't be happier with his daycare. His teachers still adore him and he adores them as well. He gets this huge smile every morning when I drop him off so we can't ask for much more.
Johnny has started solid foods now (rice & bananas so far) and is doing really well with it. As you can probably guess from his size, he's a pretty good eater.
He also got his 1st tooth the day after Thanksgiving! We spent Thanksgiving with the Quinlan's & Schofield's this year and Johnny did pretty well for his 1st holiday for a long day with a lot of people!
Johnny & I went to Bloomington the weekend before Thankgsiving to go to his cousin Grayson's 7th birthday party. It was a lot of fun. Johnny could watch Grayson play for hours. You can tell he just can't wait to be able to get up and run around with Grayson. Now we are looking forward to Johnny's 1st Christmas! Happy Holidays to everyone!!!!

October 2008

Johnny is now 5 months old! October was a busy month. We took Johnny to a Halloween festival in Chicago and made several trips home to visit grandparents (including Gma Rodeen's HUGE pumpkins!) and one for Mommy & Daddy to go tailgating : )
Pumpkin Fest in Chicago

Johnny was a tiger for his first Halloween. They had a party at school and looked like the kids all enjoyed themselves. We aren't sure what Johnny thought of his costume. He kept looking at Paul & I like "What are you staring at? What's so funny?!?"
The cold that I referred to in Johnny's 4 month post ended up lasting for over 6 weeks. That was definitely tough but we all made it through it and are expecting many more now over the winter. It's very nice to have a break from it, though! Johnny is belly laughing now when you make certain noises or when Daddy tickles his tummy. It's absolutley hilarious! He's started sitting in him bumbo seat and is loving sitting up on his own. He also loves to bang anything he can get his hands on. The slobbering is getting out of control....surely a tooth will pop through soon ; ) His smiles are still priceless and enough to melt your heart. It's hard to have a bad day with those big blue eyes looking at you!

He's also looking more & more like Paul every day. He is definitely a mini-me of his daddy!
