Johnny is 6 months old!

Johnny is 6 months old! He weighed in at 19 lbs 3 ozs (75th-90th percentile) and 28 3/4 inches (off the charts again!). The doctor said that his length is the average size of an 11 month old!

November was another great month. Johnny is getting used to the winter weather and usually laughs every morning when we go out to the car because he gets a chill and think's it's so funny. He is still full of smiles and lots of babbling. He has had a couple of pretty bad cases of eczema this month so we're trying to manage that. He is also still battling his cold every now and then but putting up with a constant runny nose even when he's not congested. That's one of the joys of daycare! We couldn't be happier with his daycare. His teachers still adore him and he adores them as well. He gets this huge smile every morning when I drop him off so we can't ask for much more.

Johnny has started solid foods now (rice & bananas so far) and is doing really well with it. As you can probably guess from his size, he's a pretty good eater.

He also got his 1st tooth the day after Thanksgiving! We spent Thanksgiving with the Quinlan's & Schofield's this year and Johnny did pretty well for his 1st holiday for a long day with a lot of people!

Johnny & I went to Bloomington the weekend before Thankgsiving to go to his cousin Grayson's 7th birthday party. It was a lot of fun. Johnny could watch Grayson play for hours. You can tell he just can't wait to be able to get up and run around with Grayson.

Now we are looking forward to Johnny's 1st Christmas! Happy Holidays to everyone!!!!

October 2008

Johnny is now 5 months old! October was a busy month. We took Johnny to a Halloween festival in Chicago and made several trips home to visit grandparents (including Gma Rodeen's HUGE pumpkins!) and one for Mommy & Daddy to go tailgating : )

Pumpkin Fest in Chicago

The cold that I referred to in Johnny's 4 month post ended up lasting for over 6 weeks. That was definitely tough but we all made it through it and are expecting many more now over the winter. It's very nice to have a break from it, though! Johnny is belly laughing now when you make certain noises or when Daddy tickles his tummy. It's absolutley hilarious! He's started sitting in him bumbo seat and is loving sitting up on his own. He also loves to bang anything he can get his hands on. The slobbering is getting out of control....surely a tooth will pop through soon ; ) His smiles are still priceless and enough to melt your heart. It's hard to have a bad day with those big blue eyes looking at you!

He's also looking more & more like Paul every day. He is definitely a mini-me of his daddy!

Johnny was a tiger for his first Halloween. They had a party at school and looked like the kids all enjoyed themselves. We aren't sure what Johnny thought of his costume. He kept looking at Paul & I like "What are you staring at? What's so funny?!?"

Johnny is 4 months old!

Johnny had his 4 month check-up today and he weighs 16 lbs 14 oz and is 27 inches long! That's the 90th percentile for weight and as the doctor put it, "off the charts" for height. We have a big boy on our hands! Paul is already wondering what we're going to have feed this little man once he starts eating real food. He's doing great developmentally and he actually rolled over for the 1st time at his doctor's appointment while we were waiting for her to come in! I kept putting him back on his back to make sure I wasn't seeing things but he repeated it 3 times. He's still chewing on his fists and anything else he can get in his mouth. He loves to grab his toes now, too. He's had a cold for 2 weeks now which has been tough but we're getting through it (with just a little sleep deprivation!). He also started daycare on September 22 and seems to be doing well. We love the people there and feel like he's in good hands. The teachers are in love with him already and can't wait to give him kisses every morning when I drop him off. They say he's an easy baby and only cries when he's hungry or needs changed which is nice to hear. He's still all smiles at night which makes us feel good, too.
The picture above is on his 4 month birthday and the pictures below were taken throughout September.

Johnny is 3 months old!

Johnny was 3 months old on Aug 31. To celebrate, he joined his daddy at a fantasy football draft and partied it up with his friends Thea & Emma in his Bob Dylan t-shirt : )

In August, I took a quick trip to Miami with Erica to visit Heather and go to the Cubs game. It was a blast!

I went back to work on Aug. 26 and Johnny is staying home until he goes to daycare on Sep. 22. For my last day of maternity leave, Johnny went out to lunch and on a walk to the park with Mommy & Daddy. This month, Johnny has continued growing like crazy and using his hands to grab toys and put them in his mouth. He is talking louder than ever! : ) He got his 3 month professional pictures taken yesterday and some of the best are below.

Johnny is 2 months old!

Johnny had his 2 month doctor appointment this past Monday. He is 25" long and weights 13 lbs. 11 oz. That's the 90th percentile of weight and over the 95th percentile for height. The doctor was impressed because he was such a social baby. He looked her right in the eyes and was smiling at her the whole time. He also started lifting himself up on his tummy.

Paul and I took Johnny to his 1st Cubs game on Tuesday. He did really well and we got to stay until the bottom of the 8th inning. He didn't like all the clapping but then he fell asleep for most of the game.

Johnny cooing at Gma Q

Grandma Q was clicking her tongue at Johnny to make him smile and coo! :)
